Supernatural but knowable

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

on Psalm 33

To praise God is right,
and joyfully sing.
His all-scanning sight
knows who hope in him –
don’t trust your resources,
(wait on him, he’ll guard)
– our skills, weapons, horses
can’t help like the Lord!

He’s righteous, his view
is accurate, just –
His words are all true,
in his name we trust.
How happy his nation
to him they are dear.
for they are his portion:
they love and revere.

The Lord, by command
formed stars and the land.
He foils and he thwarts
the plans of men’s thoughts
which he is discerning.
Almighty to save,
His own plans are certain,
unfailing his love.

We’re righteous in him
and joyfully sing,
with music and skill,
our voices will thrill,
A new song – salvation –
ours hearts overflow,
in Christ we’ve redemption,
what wonders we know.
