Thanks, Jenny. It is so easy to be envious, and misjudge others' situations, and there is much gain in praying to be content and prayerful but trusting in our lot! And what a mess we might make of a different situation! Rhiannon

I was a bit confused about the photo to start with, but of course, the greenness of grass would be more important to grazing animals than anyone else! 

I wonder why green is the colour of envy? Your second part immediately made me think of being eaten by a green worm, inside to out. But it is a worm we don't have to let in, we would have more peace of mind without it.

Thanks, Di. I have always thought that is where the saying comes from. You often see horses trying to reach over a fence of hedge to the attracting grass the other side, and I know my husband (being very careful of hooves!) once rescued a sheep trying to get through a femce amd needing to be pushed back, and once we had to report a very stuck one to his farmer.

Proverbs 14:30 says 'A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones'. Maybe 'green' came from the sickly, discontented look on the skin?? Rhiannon
