The Victim’s Victory – for us!

[Continuing the hymn-for-Sundays series]

A crown of thorns crushed on His head, and mocked.
The Victim’s victory cry – ‘Finished!’’ – earth rocked.
The Lion-Lamb was killed – He let them kill,
for thus He would accomplish all God’s will.

By miracle tough curtain* torn from top –
access to God it can no longer stop,
the separation sin had made, and fear
is bridged by faith in Christ – the way now clear.

And we must follow, heed His words, obey
and let Him lead, be humble, love His way,
not claim to honour Him yet not submit
to Him as Lord and to His plans commit.
