Some people leave a work of art
when they depart this earth;
some people leave a legacy
of quite substantial worth.

Some actors leave a set of films
– their features there displayed ;
but not their own, just fictional,
the characters portrayed.

What would I like to leave behind?
Oh, may the memories perish
of all my folly, may there be
some kindness, smile you cherish!

Don't forget that you will be leaving behind a wealth of poetry for your children and grandchildren to read over and over and treasure. I hope you have it in a format which will survive.
