But what is ‘sin’?
By Rhiannonw
- 1296 reads
Her Lord – kind Lord
had given her life
and boundaries wise,
untouched by any trouble, pain;
one day she listened as a rebel voice
maligned her Lord, good Lord
– the liar whispered she would gain
by disobeying wise instruction –
insinuating that it was
unnecessary, and
unreasonably restrictive:
she did succumb – and that was sin,
and deadly to her perfect life,
destructive;
her kind Lord indicated
she would be able to return,
and how at great expense (to him)
she could get life again,
undoing deadly wound,
so love her Maker and his words,
be loving in her neighbourhood,
with no desire at all toward
recurrence of the mutiny,
and know delight
in living by his law,
remembered life of opposition
she really would despise, abhor,
and one day she would enter where
no troubles would exist,
no sins at all,
no sinning any more.
[IP: poetry or prose using one (or more) of the seven ‘deadly sins.’]

forgiveness
As I understand "sin" is in essence disobediece to God and the law, the ten commandments. Salvation is not by works only by grace and mercy.
