What will last?

Present needs can fill the mind:
Jesus says what’s best to find
is himself, and life he’ll give
evermore with him to live.
Life-transforming offer this!
on-call service do not miss!
help in struggles is at hand –
soon we’ll reach the glorious land!
Don’t just ask for daily bread,
him receive, and so be fed
in your soul with what will last
when these present needs are past.
So with thinking realigned,
following in deed and mind
fully his direction wholly
for all else is failing folly.
Tune: 77 77+ eg Humility by J Goss (Tune of 'See amid the winter snow')
or Nottingham, attrib. Mozart (Tune of 'Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee')

daily bread
Beautiful work Rhiannon! Found it a bit complicated but yes excellent!
Think of manna in the desert and Jesus feeding the multitude with only five loaves and two fishes, yes it will last! Remember the last supper and breaking of bread. The temptation of Christ and the bread of life, man shall not live by bread alone ...
There are many verses of bread in the Bible it could be worthwhile looking them up. Of course most of them do directly or indirectly refer to the body (flesh) of Jesus.
Good place to start, Daily Bread, great poetry great hymn well done! Nolan &
