Written Where?

Scattered scraps of scribbles, swimming,
corner notes on lists of shopping,
‘Boggle’ words with interloping
sentence bursts scrawled, interspersed,
treasures rescued from recycling:
gather up, and sift, recording
that still favoured on to file
to return soon, in a while
– read, re-read, roll round and round
– check the clarity, and sound,
carve and chip, put to one side
(nearby in a margin wide),
change, replace and rearrange,
or return to earlier version,
catch attention, capture passion,
knowing when no more revision
can bring further satisfaction …
[July Poetry Monthly: the place where you write …] My thoughts went to on what writing’s written rather than the seating of the writer

This reminds me of my home
This reminds me of my home Rhiannon, I have scraps of paper everywhere with words and sentences written down, just can't throw them away, thinking I might need them some day.
Love the lines:
'Boggle' words with interloping
sentence bursts scrawled, interspersed,
treasures rescued from recycling:
Apt words for a writer.
Jenny.

HI Rhiannon
HI Rhiannon
You reminded me of myself in this too - with the scraps with notes on all over the place, and the struggle to find them when you need them. I liked the alliteration in the first few lines.

You've got the theme nailed
You've got the theme nailed Rhiannon. Scraps of paper...read, re-read... return to earlier version... I recognise it all! Great piece.
