A yellow world

She felt like vigorously colouring in,
some energetic pressing back and forth, and filling in,
not delicately shading different colours in,
and proudly finished and presented
– a yellow rainbow, yellow cloud –
all coloured well, within the lines.
I thought …
we like the golden sunshine
but we too
are pleased for spectrum colours in our lives
(the rainbow too God’s sign of faithful care he gives
despite the violence, wickedness still in the world)
and clouds of white and grey
bring needed moisture, shade
and make us glad to see once more
the golden sunshine in the sky!

Maybe she was thinking of the
Maybe she was thinking of the missing piece? There is no sun in the picture? And without that there could be no rainbow, so maybe she was restoring balance?

I think the little girl must have had just a yellow crayon?
I remember as a child when the gave us (playing?) clay that when you mix it all up all the coulurs together and knead all the colours together it always just end up as Brown? Why is this Rhiannon do you know?

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Quite right. Without the dullness of rainy days, we wouldn't appreciate the golden sun nearly as much. Lovely poem.
