Travelling many months to behold
the King now born, as long foretold.
The star announced and led the way –
no longer in that shed with hay.
Herod of their searching heard
– a growing rival king he feared.

Those men worshipped One so young,    
gave him gifts, which very soon
helped his parents take the child
away from Herod’s hatred wild.
Safe in Egypt til told, ‘Return’:
Nazareth his childhood home.

It does make sense a few days after Cristmas, "Herod of their searching heard – a growing rival king he feared".Wise men helped his parents take the child" away from Herod’s hatred wild".

Thank you. Good job he didn't know! The wise men were warned in a dream not to go tell Herod where Jesus was, and Joseph was warned by the Lord in a dream to flee. Such a provision to have that gold, frankincence and myrrh for their far journey, too! The Father protected his Son, to be our Saviour. It probably took the wise men quite a while to travel over after they saw the star, which is probably why Herod, in his anger, 'sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old and under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men.' Matthew 2:16 and in verse 11 it mentions a house now. Rhiannon
