I stand alone before a
shadow on the wall
with sodden edges
that razor-sharp memories
and contemplate
the closeness of my being
a revelation of my existence
and attempts to gain an
upper hand over any apparition
upon a wall in an alley with
diminishing returns
an area of forgotten ambition
sanctuary for my boasting.

Keep experimenting Richard.
Keep experimenting Richard. This stuff is really superb, the whole poem is ace but the last two stanzas are freakishly good.
