The long street

wound like a tired snake - an

anaconda by choice

rusting cars wasted by

the curbside

his new shirt out

of touch for the occasion

well not really

but still new-looking

from the church clothing

rack – a donation

from a kind stranger

and the gifted

street person surely likes

its green colour.
