are to escape from
their persistent flare of wings
annoying
frightful with their potential
a sting perhaps
the thought of landing
on any party of our body –
revolting.
Yet bees convey a natural
desire to cross-pollinate apples
almonds and coffee
blueberries, corn and…
the reproduction of plant
fertilization
and all without any personal
sexual desires --

Nice piece, Richard. I'm not normally bothered by bugs, I used to keep reptiles and assorted creepy crawlies, but I was walking the dog the other day and a very large, unidentified something landed on my face and then flitted away - I didn't see it properly but it might have been a dragonfly - and it's the only bug related revulsion I remember experiencing.
