A BUILDING BONANZA poem

A Building Bonanza

Side-pocket towns
are clumped as an oasis
amid cattle land
houses popping up
with clutches of yards
brick and fences
Devon and Beaumont as
street samples
Devonian Research Centre
and Fas Gas
all part of the landscape.
Asphalt highways lead us
across the
North Saskatchewan River
and beyond.
