cool nature

the brrr of October

 

leaves fallen

snow on the fly.

 

And I want to feel

snowflakes lick my face.

Dear Readers: Should 'brrr' be spelled 'birrr'? I have decided to call my short-short  poems of seven lines "Paddle Poems". For those who adventure with canoes as I did for many years, you already know the power of a small instrument such as a paddle. It is small in comparison to a canoe yet controls the action of the larger body. Such are my poems of seven lines -- compressed energy within the lines which may explode into greater meanings. A paddle, usually a 'Duck' style controls the direction and speed of the canoe and with a mighty V-stroke propels the canoe into a roar.

Lovely! No, I wouldn't put an 'i' into 'brrr'.

You've put me into the feel of the cold and the scene here, and still had room to share a simple delight and desire. Rhiannon

Thanks so much, Rhiannon.  Brrr will remain as is -- thank you for the advice. Also, on the submission form there is a box to be ticked if you want to say "yes" for published. I usually tick it such and wonder if I am supposed to only if it was published before submitting because in most cases the work I submit has only been published as I post it. Comprendre?

I think you will find that if you 'untick' that box, by clicking on it, you are saving the work to your site, but it will not be published publicly on the site. ie only you can see it and read it. I use that facility to check over my pieces, and then check the box again (in 'edit' mode) so that the tick appears for publication! Clear?? Rhiannon
