For Daddy’s Loving Eyes

A little boy is a gift, as a
mother robin protects
her nest within
the framework of the forest
so does a man for his son.
Little tyke, comfortably
nestled in daddy’s arms,
asleep, coughing fit at rest
admire his tiny nose,
floppy ears, high
cheekbones and wide brow
just like daddy’s own.
Life is tenderness
from a father to son.
As a baby robin adapts
to Nature, so too
will the boy become
a man, older and wiser
and one day he too may
gaze upon a dear son.
