In days of yonder
forest
now grown tall
and green I left sparks
of energy from my youth
among the streams
and now older
in a land I still remember
those ole days
of thunder and spit
that sealed
with hand contact
a kid’s contract to be pals
forever. It’s now many
years since I met
the reason for a precious
future -- a wife & best
friend and new life.

I loved the sentiments in your poem Richard. I bet it's been quite some journey you and your partner have been on, a tender hearted read indeed.
Jenny.
