A Distinctive Side

Some say I ended up

living on the wrong side

of RR tracks where

cars are rusty

and housing comes mostly

in tiny apartments

rents too often above

one’s pay level.

Your cut of clothing

hair style and thin wallet

can sometimes

determine a future.

Now I allow no limitations

in my intentions.

From ground level

I try to climb

to the stars and beyond

barriers no longer

restraining.
