center row tables
floating voices, idle
chatter
the friendly matron is
young, refreshing
cheeks happy.

Our waitress brings coffee,
a welcome lull
in business discussions.
The music surrounds
everyone.

Thanks Stan, for your comment. It is appreciated. This Inn was one I visited often when I lived in Sarnia, and was a haven for business folks. This poem was written a few years ago, and is one of a whole batch I wrote and never submitted anywhere. Yes, the Inn was a grand place. My wife and I live in Truro, Nova Scotia now.
