Entering Dorval, Quebec
Ponderosa Pines
decorate the highway,
a welcome mat
strutting tallness as
two fingers of
friendship, voices
calling “Come,”
and we do.
Soon, evening colours
overtake backyard
enclosures,
houses clustered
in robotic formations
nearby city workers
descending subway steps
in busy silhouettes of
movement, supper calling.
