Everyday Flavours

Through my window-pane:

Cobequid Hills with

an elevation of 1,500 feet

high reaching-

a jungle haven of  surrounding

birch and spruce and pine

too untamed

for little children but they

grew up into older memories

and high expectations-

from climbing trees to caring

for girl friends and driving a car

then the big one-

fatherhood with the lady

of their dreams

and all coming alive

from a page in my book

of Grandfather Blues.
