Earl is a man whose smile

overwhelms shyness – his sins

behind him – found Jesus

and now life has no bounds.

A wife and two children adore

this man. Once the ‘hog’ he rode

brought nightmares to a community

where the law was slack

and citizens afraid to complain.

They say religion can turn anyone

who’s life has smelled of terror.

But that was long ago. Now

he kneels at night – family

by his side – and speaks the

name of Jesus – the One who heals.
