Everyone Loves Harry

He’s the friendliest
lad on the block-
thank you sir
when someone hands him
a fiver
and good day mum
as he tips
his toque-
rather warm this
sunny day
Harry often said.
He’s a regular
at the shelter – his
cot fit for a
King. Much better
than his back-up spot
under the church
front steps.
He.s a taker under
the umbrella
of good people – and yet
also a giver
to those in need of
a good story or a smile.
Note: This poem is dedicated to Willy who
does exist; someone I am proud to call friend.

Willy sounds like a genuine friend, with a gift for story telling for those who will listen.
What a kind tribute you've written here Richard.

man's best friend
I'm a lot like this Harry, without being ugly, a dog, very friendly. A happy dog mind you and I'd probably whip you in a game of chess too &
