Eyes Can See

Houses creep like snails
climbing the hillside nearby
with asphalt and concrete curbs.

It scars the landscape with
good intentions disregarding cries
of frustration from environmentalists

and the only comment I have
is the exercise of climbing
a sidewalk built on a hill.

Hello Esther, Yes---there is a fine line between protecting the environment vs. development. ie the proposed pipeline from Canada to the USA. Right now the western USA needs jobs desperately and it is configured that 20,000 will get work. On the other hand the Environ. types say no. The question is whether anyone is willing to compromise or forget the whole thing. Much has now been discovered about many Environment groups getting too political and funded by very large dollars.
