A shovel creates an instrument
of worth as it catapults
crystals to sidewalk’s fringe

releasing it to sky in flight.

The removal of this intruder
provides enough passage
for child steps bobbing my way.

Hello Nolan, and thank you for your comment. I guess my explanation re "between the lines" should have said, something like, "I try to leave thinking-spaces for readers to fill in the blanks." ie. "I brought a gallon of water to the campsite, and later used the remnants to put out the embers.I don't have to keep saying 'pail' or 'flames'. Have a great New Year's day. Richard LP
