They came
scooping-in
the four
of them
Blue Jays
as family-hood
black seeds
a delicacy
each taking turns
to snatch their
prize–
but first
the larger peanuts
more attractive
yes-
two couples
‘til
the end.

I've never seen a Blue Jay before, so it was such a pleasure to read your poem. I've read they frequent gardens in Canada, it must be such a wonderful sight with their pretty blue feathers.
