Fever in the Water 2

the lake in a landscape   

of swirling tradition

with currents in rushing mode

winds along for a ride --

ducks rapid-fire fluttering

after a restful pause

clouds exhaling sprinkles

from beneath blankets of grey.

and speckled trout poke

curiously at moist membranes

escaping a reunion of mosquitoes

tap-dancing upon the water --

beauty is kin to nature’s memory.
