Dancing in the shadows
his image of self-assurance
cries out, as birds
come uncaged
longing,
needs to be nurtured
friends standing by
are shocked at the
revelation, the change
and he is changing
chains unmasked
skies untamed,
past errors diminished
the sight of land
in the distance, illuminated
by sunbeams.

Hi Richard, I'm not much of
Hi Richard,
I'm not much of a poet, but I liked this short piece. To me, it's about some coming of age moment when a person realises there own self worth, maybe in a single moment. Even if that's nowhere near I guess with poetry it's all per the individual?
