to overcome the other side
of an autumn lake
the aroma of a song
milked from the universe
of diamond-glitter
escalating in unhurried stages
as a symphony
kissed by the wind
as accolades
from calling loons
responding back and forth
with excitement--
proud of their heritage
where time itself
attracts forever sounds
in the woods
and wildlife pause
knowing nature’s cry
will ricochet in
a wilderness of peace.

Goodnight!
