As It Happens

Marching as noiseless
trumpets the grass
struts forward
its green facade
bold and lively in
a demand for more space
after the presence of heavy
rain followed by
sunshiny ways.
And then dew worms
appear on the surface
in a gesture of curiosity
only to be taken
away by chubby robins
their red breasts boasting
another successful meal.
