For Joe

Not long ago almost eleven
was more like a tadpole
before leapfrogging into a man

watched him grow up that little fellow
learned to love the woods and
accept the fact
mosquitoes lived on the land

learned to paddle a canoe
have mud fights on Lake Economy
and fire a rifle true.

Caught the bug he did
that woodsy moments can be a respite
a gift from God---a Divine Plan.

So proud of this grown up guy
now a husband following new trails

met a dear lady who fulfills
a dream of love and family sharing
yes indeed
after “Yes” she claimed her man.
