I watch him
that soul of a
once legend
who cared for others
with good deeds
through a heart of gold
everyone chimed-
now relegated to a
manual wheel
chair. Slow
so slowly he winds
his roll-along machine
climbs an
incline then another
grade of asphalt
brand. I remember back
when he ran like a
panther – sought others
with a mountain smile.
And I cry.
