A Laughing Matter (short short story)

I introduced myself to one of the men at the church conference as “Dick.” Cheerfully I asked, “What is your name?”

“Dexter,” he answered.

“That’s a coincidence,” I said. “My nickname is Dixter.”

“That’s interesting,” replied the gentleman. “My nickname is Dick.”
