Leftovers

I chased a $20 bill from my

wallet the other day

and went to the movies, Bruce Willis

was on, my favourite action hero --

brought along some popcorn for company,

expensive these days

my wife had a meeting and the night

too long without her.

Kind of hard to match his act with fists

flying, jumping over cars, falling

from buildings

even crashing though apt. windows

not my cup of tea –

couldn’t happen to me though

don’t have those muscles, nor physique

to turn on ladies

nor create buzz if I walked on stage --

the way you are, my wife says

is just fine with me.
