I see sagging eyelids
And draggy cheeks needing
Some toning up
Hair awry thinning around the
Front and ears more
Prominent
Eyes having seen much
Remembering promenades among
Forest trails our canoe rushing
Across a vacant bay
And slow walks downtown
Love of life my wife by my side
These feet upon which a mountain
Of memories hang
Take me to early duties
In a morning of expectation
Bathe dress eat then spirited off
Through arthritic moments
slower time for a man of age
adapting to changes in daily living.
