Looking Through
misty breath on kitchen’s
window a
man seeks recognition
observes my steps
along the asphalt
wondering if I’m heading
to the variety store a
bag of apples or peanut bar
my possible intentions.
He’s not confronting
me with insightful election
views nor passing
comments on my attire yet I
wonder about
him. Alone at home? Perhaps
awaiting his dear one
to tackle dinner a
plate of chips
with two friendly hunks
of haddock?
My favourite too.
Before turning back into
our own worlds we
acknowledge each other
with noding chins.
