Surround me with family so I
may shun despair,
and tired eyes view
the world
with a freshness of morning dew
creating opportunities
for friendship, to display an
open heart that does
not create tension nor offense
where words are believed
for their purity, stirring hearts, an
“I love you mom” gratefully received
as everyone salutes my smile.
I become young again within the
scent of fresh cedar, and eyes sparkle
as a doe prancing forward
sweet grass awaiting --
let me clap hands which sound the
thrum of life, singing songs
that float about with a loon’s melody
during evening’s twilight:
such moments are
the plans of my desires.

You touch and light up the
You touch and light up the family haven well here, Richard, - may we all endeavour to help develop such, with all our failings - "to display an open heart that does not create tension nor offense
where words are believed"
thank you, Rhiannon

Yet another beautiful poem from you Richard, with
words that touch on a subject I really believe
myself.
Thanks for sharing this one.
Jenny.
