Mud and Water, Everywhere (story)

little toes
and your fingers
and
your nose?

Did you remember
the rest of
your face too,
little girl with eyes
so blue?

Are you sure you’re
super clean
after taking your bath?

Uncle Richard
and Aunt Esther will be
coming for lunch.

Will you pick flowers
to decorate our
table?

Bring bunches of
purple peacocks and
pink wild roses.

There’s turkey and soup
and funny looking
Goop.

After eating
there’s games like
Ring around the Rosy,
Frozen Tag and
Hide-go-Peek

and even
messy water fights.

My, my
have to start cleaning
all over again.
