five and six more deer

straight as a pencil

on autumn’s crunchy floor

while morning sun

says vamoose

to a lingering mist

whispering into far away.

Thank you much, Rhiannon. This poem was written from the front porch of our daughter's home in the woods near Houston, BC, during our recent holidays there. The sun heralds itself as it comes over the Cascade Mts.

Hello again, R. Our health is monitored carefully at our ages of 76 and 79 -- and right now we are wrestling with coughing spells and thankfully mine have receded.substantially today. -RLP

Very humbling to have folks like you to take the time to encourage others like me. I thoroughly enjoy these short/piddling/mini poems. Writing them is as challenging as a 20-30 liner and gives my mind, heart and soul a good testing for my brain waves.
