The Outside of Living
By Richard L. Provencher

Through the dust of a cottage window
I can smell lakeside’s musk,
a world of compressed energy
within the moisture
canoe awaiting -- prow prepared
to pierce any obstacle,
clouds in shady silhouettes
and ducks with gladiator moves.
Rain imitates a pouncing cat
sprinkling droplets, loons echo eerily.
Dusk weaves a pattern within
the forest, twilight
fanning ripples on the lake
and I eagerly search Nature’s
memory notebook
for each electric moment.

Hi Richard,
Hi Richard,
it's good to read your poetry again and what a beauty this one is.
Full of natures gifts to the world and amazing metaphors in every stanza.
Very much enjoyed reading.
Jenny.
