At Peace

Sitting
here on the

back
porch of our family

church
surrounded by

green
and robins manoeuvring

in
their search for worms

a
lullaby of chirping

descends
and tranquility

follows.
The air is fresh

sky
blue with a whisper

of
clouds. Soon darkening

begins
and rain follows.

and
I still don’t believe.

How
can anything penetrate

the
solace I feel when

Nature
is rightly placed

as
I share this space

with
my precious Jesus?
