POETRY ANYONE? poem

Poetry Anyone?
Some poets go to great
lengths to discover
their muse
and I often wondered how
leaving your family
or taking drugs
expands your view.
I knew someone who
got lost along
that one-way path.
Or is it really possible
to enlighten one’s
self by spending many
moments immersed
in outdoor sounds
within a forest where
the scent
of wildness
is a joy to you?
I’ve often been accused
of taking that path.
Now let me provide
another avenue
for consideration anew
rather drastic I say
and not too common
among those
bards who provide literary
milieu where all thoughts
must follow the crew.
I propose something
distinctive and creative
and don’t say I did
not warn you
about a new way to kick
start your writing machine.
Now try rubbing rhubarb
between your toes
and I guarantee it will
give you another
point of view.
