plinks pellets of moisture
from storm’s dish and
the Pyrenee is duty-bound to
herd sheep and corral
them into protection as
crackling bolts arrive
saving an eye for any coyote
who dares to bare fangs
upon his innocents. When
the guardian is around it is
a savouring of responsibility.
