Like an overflowing bowl
of chicken soup
sweeping through a rocky
lane
a fast-moving stream
shows foamy white eyes
of mischievousness
gobbling up branches from
shoreline spruce trees
wind-strewn about
the water in
a ‘sock it to me’
speed now challenging
anything in its way-
A blend of Autumn yellow &
orange tint share
space along the shoreline
composed of granite
slabs - ancient
in their markings
& pride of ownership
in my heart.
