RCMP at Your Service

The officer is a handgun of
Authority 9mm slick at his side
Never fired it yet
Doesn’t want to
Puts his pants on same as any
Man in the morning except
His has stripes on the side
A signal of good intentions

Kicks back from the chair
Shiny boots a-licking
Sees his Grad Diploma from PEI hanging
Pictures of family and calendared dates for excursions
To come if Court-time ever vacates his personal time

Has breakfast bacon & eggs his
Favourite dear wife has the touch
Little ones still in bed
As mice in the coddles of dreaming

Kissing sleeping children & wife goodbye
Heads out for solving crime
And other addictions.
