Remembrance Day
Colin feels taller than
a mountain on grandpa's
shoulders
Grampy? How come
that lady’s crying? He asks
staring at the cenotaph
not seeing
grandpa’s tears.
One day I'll tell you
stories grandpa answers
about your Great Grandpa
Adelard.
Places marked in stone
are read to the crowd--
Hill 70
Canal-du-Nord
Cambrai
Battle of Britain
Korea and Afghanistan
where Canadians marched
for freedom grandpa said.
Neato Colin answers.
