I promised you a new life

filled with wine and adventure

ride along the Rhine, perhaps

climbing Eiffel Tower’s strands,

scudding a hand glider over

sandy shores at sunny Greece,

or, surfing the flavours of Hawii?

Closer to home, a boat cruise

under the mist of Niagara Falls?

I do not wish to turn your

head on trips of fancy and flight

will you settle for a home treat

instead, perhaps a ham sandwich?
