can be an attraction
but tonight
their flickers seem overly
distant – muted by the clouds
saturated in shades
of silver and grey
as our canoe glides – current
leading the way.
I drop anchor then turn
and accept the
glint in your eye.
We close the space
between us and seal the night
with a kiss - to lighter
dress and moon’s caress
in a lover’s rest.
