A Sundown of Enchantment

The loss of daylight tingles
with showers of radiance,
a soft lavender splash
warming trees and fields
an edge to God's smile,
peaceful aside Cobequid Bay.
Cars hum along at 100 Km
traveling Hwy 104
smack dab into sunset,
troubles masking my view
headache on full alert.
I come alive in splendid
magnificence -- eyes feasting
on shadow's rim,
swirls of yellow and gold
colouring evening’s scenery.
In my hurrying, in this
crab-scrambling race
I allow a bathing.
The sky is a comfort,
changing from moody blue
orange-red to yellow hue,
a rekindling of life's eager fire.
