Tenting in the Woods

The lake is swirling
with activity, ducks swooping
through cloudy blankets,
a sprinkle of speckled
trout poking at the
skin of water
where mosquitoes skitter
on the surface.
Trees creak, birds sing
evening farewells
and loons are silhouettes
of imagination.
Silence is beauty, Nature a
friend of memory.
