Through Daddy’s Eyes
A little boy is a gift. Just as
a mother robin protects
her nest within the framework
of the forest
so does a man for his son.
Little tyke, comfortably nestled
in daddy’s arms, asleep
coughing fit at rest
daddy admires his tiny nose,
floppy ears, high
cheekbones and wide brow
just like his own.
Life is love-
tenderness from
a father for his little boy.
As a baby robin adapts to
Nature, the boy too will become
a man, older and wiser
one fine day he too may
gaze upon his own dear son.
